The Partnership Schools is a pioneering network of six independent, inner-city Pre-K-8th grade Catholic schools in the South Bronx and Harlem which builds off the proven legacy of Catholic education in character and values formation and draws upon lessons learned from high-performing charter, public and Catholic schools across the country.

The Partnership wants to help its students sustain and leverage the gains they make in Pre-K through 8th grade to be sure they are prepared for high school, college, and careers and able to be productive, caring members of their communities.

School Marketing Intern

In recent years, Catholic schools across the country have experienced enrollment declines and school closures. Marketing and enrollment are crucial for these schools because they receive little to no government funding and rely on tuition and donations to fund their day-to-day operations.

The Partnership is currently seeking six School Marketing Interns to work at the Partnership schools, under the direction of the school Admissions and Development Associates (ADAs), to improve enrollment at their respective schools. Spring interns may be considered for future positions at the Partnership, including summer marketing interns and ADAs.

 

Responsibilities

  • Implementing campaigns to increase enrollment
  • Updating flyers, brochures, and other materials
  • Regularly flyering the neighborhood
  • Assisting open houses for prospective parents and following up with every attendee
  • Calling and emailing parents to guide them through the registration process
  • Reaching out to and building relationships with community-based organizations, day care centers, other schools, and local businesses
  • Drafting e-blasts and other communications
  • Tracking applications and inquiries
  • Other miscellaneous office work, such as updating alumni files

Skills and Characteristics:

Ideal candidates will possess the following characteristics:

  • Passion for education and children
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of people
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Creativity and resourcefulness
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and take direction
  • Working proficiency in Spanish (preferred)

Details

  • Ideally interns would start in late February and work through May, but timing is flexible. If the intern and Partnership have interest, the intern may be offered an extension to work as a summer intern. Interns that excel in their role may be considered for future positions in the organization.
  • Pay will be $10/hour
  • Hours will vary based on availability. We understand that interns will need to set a work schedule that fits with their class schedule and other activities. Schools are typically open between 8 am and 5 pm.
