Kathleen Porter-Magee
Partnership Superintendent & Chief Academic Officer

In her role as Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer, Kathleen leads the six Partnership network schools in implementing the policies and practices necessary to ensure academic excellence. These measures range from instructional coaching and a strengthened professional development program to the introduction of proven academic curricula, and are informed by Kathleen’s 17 years of experience working with charter and Catholic schools.

Before joining the Partnership, Kathleen served as the Senior Advisor for Policy and Instruction at the College Board, as the Director of Curriculum and Professional Development at Achievement First and the Director of Teacher and Principal Professional Development and Recruitment for the Archdiocese of Washington, DC. Kathleen also continues to advocate for education reform as a Bernard Lee Schwartz Policy Fellow at the Thomas B. Fordham Institute. She is also a newly elected Pahara-Aspen Education Fellow.

Kathleen has a profound appreciation for the importance of Catholic education, having begun her career as a Catholic school teacher in Maryland. Kathleen received her B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross and her M.A. in Education Policy and Leadership from the George Washington University.
